💭 My 2 Cents: This one’s got that rare mix: technical chops and pure hallucination. Vronskaya’s Dreamwalker Rise 4 feels like an Orthodox icon got drunk in a dream journal. It’s elegant chaos: a see-through figure wrapped around a horse at a moonlit pond. You could call it spiritual. Or psychedelic. Either way, it’s not trying to impress the Basel crowd, and that’s its strength. She’s been at this for decades, with paintings in the Tate and Pushkin, but the market still hasn’t caught up. Which is dumb, but good news if you’re collecting.

🔑 Key Numbers: £8,750 (~$11,000). Size: 122 × 91 cm. Hand-signed, unique, no frame (which honestly suits the ethereal vibe). She’s landed four consecutive RA Summer Exhibitions, was with John Martin Gallery for a decade, and Messums just gave her a solo. Secondary market is quiet, most hold, few flip.

Forget sentiment. Price is a function of scarcity, not stories. Control the inventory, and you control the price chart.

The Warhol Foundation knows. They drip-feed through Christie’s like it’s hormone therapy. No one gets fat. No one panics. Everyone stays addicted.

Smart collectors are locking tranches of estates. Ernie Barnes? Post–“Sugar Shack,” they released barely a whiff of inventory. Mid-six figures stuck like glue.
